Open Eyes and Courageous Hearts
Seeing God in All Things
In celebration of St Angela Merici, our parish has worked with Santa Clara University’s Markey Center for Leadership and Ministry to develop a retreat that you will want to attend! Please join us on Friday evening January 27th and Saturday January 28th.
It is at times difficult to connect deeply with God and our faith when it feels like so much is wrong in our world. Sometimes we feel the connection and the call, but it is too overwhelming to know where to start. We have beautiful role models in Saint Angela Merici and Saint Ignatius of Loyola who have shown us that when the going gets tough we must open our eyes, challenge ourselves to find and see God all around us, and to listen attentively for His call to live our journey as brothers and sisters in Christ.
In this retreat you will learn a Jesuit approach to see the work of the Lord all around us every day, in every way. Following the teachings of Ignatius Loyola you will learn that giving just a few minutes to prayerful introspection can bring peace while strengthening faith. Retreatants will come away from this two-day program not just with tools for listening and discernment, but feeling inspired by the model we have in Angela Merici who shows us what feats can be accomplished when a Christian community supports one another with faith and love, seeking justice and equity in our lives and communities.
